2010 - Heidi Frizzi and Angie Marinelli

The Jessica Frizzi Memorial Scholarship

Jessica Lynn Frizzi (February 20, 1984 -March 17, 2008) attended the Bellaire School system and graduated from Bellaire High School in the class of 2002. She attended kindergarten through third grade at Neffs Elementary School, fourth through sixth grade at Key Ridge School, and seventh and eighth grade at Gravel Hill Middle School.

During High School at BHS, Jessica was a member of the Spanish Club, Choir, and Jazz Ensemble. She was a member of Student Council, participated in the TAPP program, and was active in Young Life where she enjoyed meeting and spending time with new friends from neighboring school districts. In Jessica's senior year, she was voted a member of the Homecoming Court by her classmates.

One of Jessica's greatest joys at Bellaire High School was being a member of the Red Line Dance Team. She worked hard with her teammates and advisor representing Bellaire High School for Red Line performances at the Bellaire High School football games and parades, and the many competitions in which the Red Line participated.

Jessica discovered at an early age that she wanted to help and work with the development of young people and pursued a degree in Psychology at The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. She graduated from OSU with a BA Psychology on December 6, 2006.

After graduating from college, Jessica put her skills to use working with troubled teens with drug and alcohol dependencies through employment with Drug Abuse and Treatment Associates (DATA) in Ft. Pierce, Florida.

Jessica died as a result of an automobile accident caused by a negligent truck driver in March of 2008 in Lakeland, Florida. Although her life on earth was too short, Jessica touched the hearts of all she met with her dedication to helping others, her loyalty to her friends and co-workers in good and bad times, and genuinely caring for those less fortunate than herself. Jessica's love, smile, and friendship will forever live in the hearts of those that knew her.

This Endowment is established in Jessica's name to continue to help others by keeping alive her spirit and the virtues she held close to her heart. The Endowment was made possible by donations from family, friends, classmates of BHS, and others that loved her.

A memorial scholarship has also been established in Jessica’s name at The Ohio State University and gives preference to eligible students from Bellaire High School and Belmont County, Ohio.
